Commemorative stamps to celebrate Adam Mickiewicz launched in Novogrudok
The first-day-of-issue dedication ceremony took place in Novogrudok to celebrate the 225th anniversary of the birth of Adam Mickiewicz on 10 November, BelTA learned from the Bealtion national mail service Belpochta.
The 225th anniversary of the birth of poet Adam Mickiewicz will be celebrated on 24 December. In the run-up to this event, the Communications and Informatization ministry issued a souvenir postal sheet "225th Anniversary of the Birth of Adam Mickiewicz".
The ceremony is a kind of window into the past and is designed to the historical and cultural value of this small but important event, the company noted.
The ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Novogrudok District Executive Committee Sergei Charkovsky, the Director of Belpochta's Grodno Branch Andrei Anisimov and Director of the Adam Mickiewicz House and Museum of in Novogrudok Anna Apanovich.
